My fall transplanted Hostas were doing just great but now all the leafs are curling! Should i give up and cut them back or give them a good talking to?

  • You could definitely try talking to them but the biggest reason for curling leaves is poorly draining soil thereby too much moisture causing root rot.

Are they getting too much sunshine?

Where did you transplant them to?In the fall when you transplanted what steps were taken?

Well, I'd try talking to them first but since they'll probably listen like teenagers do, you'll get tired before they do. I believe that Hostas realily love the shade so could yours be getting too much sun? You said fall transplanted. Is the soil where they are now too dry or wet? (Maybe some sweet tea and grits would make them happy).

Thanks all for the great comments! I have given them all a stern talking to but maybe it was the language;)! It has finally started warming up and the monsoons have passed so I am hoping for the best.
