Kitchen cabinet with broken pressed wood- help!

I came across 2 kitchen cabinets that I thought I could upcycle into a kitchen island. But, when I actually got the cabinets I saw that one of them has significant water damage and the bottom portion cannot be salvaged. Is it possible to replace something like that?

Of course you can replace it. Go to the hardware store of your place and grab particle board or plywood. Carefully remove the piece and take notice as to how it's attached. Perhaps take pics during your process. I did something similar with an old dresser.
