How big are they?
And how many?
This is cute if you have many small ones. (there are lots of ideas on Pinterest)
They would make a very cute wreath with a vintage sewing theme.
Altho ,it was miniature spools ,one of my favorite Christmas ornament was a snowman made from wooden spools threaded together.
If they are on the larger side, you could stain them, hollow out the middle, and use them as small vases.
Lots of things... Wreath...use them as legs for something... knobs for things.... Just open your mind up and allow the Craft gods fill the void
I made a side table for my sofa. Sanded it down, stained it. added a couple of coats of polyurethane so if water fell it would be an easy clean up. Added some wheels so I could roll it around if need be and some text from stencils to personalize it. I also have a bigger one in the backyard as a side table for drinks and food when we are outside.
