Is there ANYWAY to get rid of ground elder and dandelions

I find ground elder coming under and through my stone wall and it gets into the roots of my herbaceous plants so I never seem to get rid of the roots. HELP!!

If they are not in the grass you can use vinegar directly on them. Vinegar will kill grass too so you don't want to use it in your yard.
