First off, be sure you have other tiles to replace the one you want to remove. . or this will end up in a whole diff. job. Then, you can use a knife made for this, usually called a carpenters knife, That has a curved blade on it, to help you cut this area, and you can clean this area up, real good, before you put a new one down. You can always get more ideas, or more wisdom at your hardware store, best wishes, J.
The tiles do not have to match to make it interesting but, do need to be the same size.
