You can save until next year, but my mom always tells me to plant my bulbs in the fall.
Large varieties may need replanting every few years; small types usually multiply and spread on their own. More info: http://www.almanac.com/plant/tulips
In planters they may freeze easier that in the ground, but they need to have the over winter cold most likely to come back and bloom nest year. Being above ground they don't have the protection from the cold all around them. You could try taking them into the garage for the winter and setting them out in the spring.
The beauty of most bulbs is that you leave them in! Yippeee!
Sorry, I just saw that your bulbs are in tubs. You'll want to bring them into the garage or cooler basement area.
