Acrylic Water Flower Arrangement

Use acrylic water and artificial flowers to create permanent floral arrangements for your home. This DIY flower arrangement features fake water and Afloral.com premium silk flowers in a simple How To home decorating idea.

For this project you will need "Liquid Illusion" acrylic water, artificial flowers, a clear glass vase, disposable bowl and spoon, and dye (optional).

Remember that once the Liquid Illusion has hardened you will not be able to remove it from the vase, so choose a permanent container.

Pour the resin into a disposable container.

Pour in equal parts hardener (following directions on the Liquid Illusion package) and stir for about 2 minutes.

Pour the mixture into the vase.

Place the artificial flower stem into the Liquid Illusion and set aside to set.

Create a colorful arrangement by adding a few drops of dye into the acrylic water and stirring.

Pour the colorful water into a vase.

Insert the silk flower stems into the acrylic water and arrange. It will take approximately 24-36 hours for the Liquid Illusion to firmly set.

Can this be used in plastic containers?

  Yes! The only material the instructions do not recommend using is styrofoam. Glass, metal and plastic are all safe to use. Read the full list of instructions that come with the resin prior to using.
