You could always try the tint or frosted window adhesive.
I had a similar issue in my house. I have a row of three large windows. I wanted drapes instead of blinds or shutters...More color options with drapes. So at first I tried getting multiple curtain rods...too many holes to put in the walls...so I came up with a very inexpensive and better fitting solution. I went to the hardware store (lowes/Home Depot, etc.) Go to the electrical isle. You will find steel pipe. Most of the lengths are 8 ft. You can get different diameters as well. I wanted silver so I didn't have to do anything but hang them. You can use standard drape rod wall attachments. Just make sure you get the right size for the pipe. If you want it a different color...you simply spray paint it with rustoleum paint for metal.
Unless you need them for privacy skip the window coverings & see the window frame as a picture frame with a changing picture.
there was at 1 time a film you could put on a window- mirrored side out, non mirrored side to the room. harder to see in, easy to see out. handled more like Mylar than plastic.
You could be right. I was thinking of that gauzy type material in a curtain. You could also do fabric blinds. I have three in my large window. When I want more privacy I pull the middle shade (largest) down. It it flanked by smaller shades which the sheer curtains cover. I can see out harder to see in.
Hi Cathy, honestly why not go with roller blinds, pull down when you need the privacy and open em up when you don't. The problem with reflective film is that you cannot use it on sealed pain windows, it will cause the glass to crack. And regular file will obscure your view.
