Hello Jean; I know exactly how you feel, as I try to repurpose everything. More of us need to recycle, reuse and reduce!!!
If it were me, I would donate it to a local Thrift Store.
I personally have done that with several things that stopped working.
One in particular, here is run by a religious group, and some of the older men excel at tinkering with things.....They fix them and resell for the Church's Thrift Store!!!
If not, someone on free cycle or such would probably be interested.
