Change the color. That's the easiest!
The first thing that comes to mind is to change the paint color of the door. Something that makes it stand out and makes you smile. I also love to place a display usually seasonal to draw attention to the doorway
As Kim (in Racine) suggested, just paint the door. Can you provide a photograph showing us the front of your house, including your roof color. I ALWAYS have an urn or two if space allows, or other styles of planters, by the entrance to make it more welcoming. I've moved many times and if I don't have the room for any decor touches like that (at the current house I'm living in), I will then always have a (seasonal) wreath on the door!
Can you post a picture to see what blends with your home
If your house number is not at the door...attach #s to a nice pot with pretty flowers or plant, or write (attach somehow) "Welcome", or ??? I'm planning to do that
Paint is a good place to start to make entrance inviting. Lighting and signage is another way. Plants, small table or chairs. Really hard to give ideas without seeing the actual area.
