you need to install a french drain to drain the water away from the house.
A Long drain dug down about 18 inches and excavated along the whole area
'A french drain yes'
or you could put in perforated plastic coil drainage pipe the entire lengh and then cover and fill thee escavation with type 2inch stone aggregate.
P.S. I would really have to see a Pic of the outside of the building for a more accurate suggestion.

In addition, you need to direct gutter downspouts away from the foundation
Are these rooms in the basement? If so, check the size of your gutters, maybe you need larger ones to handle the all the water and make sure all the water runs away from the house.
i wish you the best. My basement had puddles every time it rained. My place is on a bit of a hill side.....I dug out a dip in the yard to corral the water and slow it down. Refferd to me as a swale. Also put lonnnngggg extentions the gutters....got the water as far as I could from the foundation. My place has a concrete patio off the back door. There was a small gap...I caulked it. No more puddle under the basement steps. Where water ends up might be no where close to where it entered.
