The fan is probably set to ON and it should be on AUTO. If the fan is ON it will run all the time 24/7 causing your utility bill to be excessively high. If that doesn't fix the problem, call your a/c company as soon as possible. Good luck.
You should have a professional check that. It could be in your wiring which could be a fire hazard.
Did you have it serviced this year? changed the filter?
did you flip the breaker,,,,sometimes it needs reset
Was it a self repair DIY or a professional update? If a HVAC tech recommended it, have them come back. It may need a good cleaning, or something else minor. Systems can be tricky and it's too expensive to just keep trying different things.
It's possibly wired wrong
Check your unit outside. If it's frozen over your unit has a thermostat in it that need replaced.
I have a heating thermostat, with a similar problem. With an infrared temperature "gun" I discovered that the flue for the heating fire place, went right up the wall through the roof, and it heated the wall sufficiently to really foul up the thermostat. So look at the actual location and if there is anything that is affecting it. It took crawling under my house to completely relocate the thermostat, where it would not be affected by the wall heat, only the room temp.
I'm not sure where you live , but its 95 in the shade where I live right now . Also , make sure its set to Auto and not Run or On.
It depends what the outside temperature is. If its hot it will take longer for the temperature to drop. Outside unit may be low on freon. Furnace blower should be set on auto. Replace filter in furnace. If outside unit is in direct sunlight will take longer to cool off. Have it checked out by AC technician.
Possible wiring
Either the filters are plugged, the unit is filled with dust or dirt and needs to be blown out or washed out, or you are low on freon.
I would like to thank everyone for their help .tried all of them .none worked .time to call experts .
