How can you remove pet pee stains from hardwood floors?
Use natures miracle available at pet stores
There are specialized odor killing products at the pet stores that work really well but there's a catch , You can't put another product down before using them. Some people put baking soda on top of the pee to absorb the wet stuff then once it dries, remove it and put some plain white vinegar on the spot and
let it soak into the stain. It is supposed to eliminate the smell once the vinegar fully dries . There is also a product I used from Menards called "SPOT CHOMP" that worked well for doggie mistakes.
several different ways I use vinegar to neutralize the stain and then you can make a paste of baking soda and vinegar or I have also added alittle shout in my paste of baking soda and club soda to make the stain smell better
Club soda - my mother used it on her very expensive wool rugs whenever her stupid little dogs had an 'accident'!
Nature's Miracle (at your local pet store.) Half strength vinegar also removes the odor (not sure about the discoloration) but make sure you color test your carpet before using either. Sorry! It's such a bummer!
I've found the most important step is often overlooked. Use paper towels or washable and reusable rags to blot, soak up, and extract as much of the pet urine as possible prior to using any product. Sounds simple, but I've been surprised to find out how many just spray over pet urine and try to wipe clean - ultimately grinding the urine deeper into the carpet and padding underneath. It is only after this step I apply a cleaning agent. Another little tip: Pet odor and stain removers containing a "citrusy" scent may deter a beloved pet from going to same place to urinate. Good luck to all!
I've used Resolve spray after removing as much of the pee that is in the carpet. I buy cheap papertowels and fold them to the size of the wet spot and step on them to soak up as much of the pee as possible. I use as many as needed, I then spray on the carpet cleaner for pet spots and wash with a wet cloth. I also use vinegar/water to spray on the carpet as that can nutralize the oder and helps to remove the scent that makes them keep coming back to that spot. Hope this helps you.
once it gets down into the carpet pad....dooms day...invest in baby mattress pads that urine won't go thru...buy lots , worth the money, or replace carpet once a yr like i did for a while...til i got the pads....also called wet pads, that you wash yourself....walmart has them ...used them for yrs
how do you use the mattress pads. Where the spot is or for cleaning. Sorry to be so dense
Order Nature's Miracle from Amazon. Works great and is guaranteed to remove the stain and odor.
