I got a very old screen door. It is made of 2x4's and put together with tongue and groove. How can I get it apart w/o tearing it up!
I know this is going to sound crazy but try putting cornstarch into the hole for the hinge.
Try graphite instead of WD40. You can find it in the craft section of stores near pinewood derby supplies or in a home fixit store. You may need to remove the hinge pins and either oil them, sand them or wax them. Here's an article that tells how: http://www.wikihow.com/Stop-Squeaky-Door-Hinges
Try baby oil. It's only $1 at Dollar Tree
The hinges May be binding slightly loosen the screws and open and close the door then tighten the screws back
If all the other suggestions fail, try replaces your hardware!
Try taking the pins out and cleaning them , then reinsert after spraying with WD-40
Try some sewing machine oil on the hinges. This oil typically is much denser than conventional greasing oil because it's supposed to last for years and not months. Good luck.
I use graphite for squeaky hinges and sticking locks . It hasn't failed me yet !
Have a look at exactly what's rubbing and maybe figure out why. Personally, I'd pop the pin out of the hinge and sand it a bit. Maybe even take a small bottle brush to the hinges themselves. Then oil and replace. If that doesn't work, you may need to back out and look at the bigger picture. Is the doorjamb warped?
WD40 works great or try vaseline on the hinges.
Every summer my apartment door swells and is hard to close without pushing hard and makes squeaking noises. I use WD-40 on the hinges myself, but this is the door responding to humidity or heaven knows what but as soon as autumn comes around again, it stops. Someone suggested sanding the door and that is an option for a swollen door BUT be aware that when it shrinks back down in cooler weather, you may need to deal with open spaces around the door. Good luck!
Any kind of oil based product should work, I have even used shampoo and mayo to make thing glide easier.
