looks like an icelandic poppy.
Definitely an Icelandic Poppy
Poppy family for sure.
Yes poppies, they resend yearly
It's a poppy. It's not perennial at the 49th parallel west, but an annual. It has an abundance of seeds which should sprout the following year or else the seeds could lay dormant for years only to pop up when you least expect them. I scatter them everywhere in the neighbourhood. They don't mind poor or sandy soil. You can also use the seeds for baking...wonderful, happy plant!
I agree and a very nice one at that
It is a Poppy..don't know the variety, but my Grandmother planted them in her garden and they would come up in the spring in our Southern state
Icelandic poppy is my guess. It is unusual because of so many petals. Normally they have more simple flowers. The leaves are a great clue also. The stems should be fuzzy too. They reseed themselves very fast. Hopes this helps.
seed fall and come up next year
Looks like u r right. Have never heard of Icelandic Poppy. They do seed quickly. In spring the plants are all over in my perrenial bed like weeds
thanks
