I would use water and soap but I don´t know wheter sisal rugs shrink with water. Some stains are from spilling drinks, some others were produced by pets.
There is a Special Spray for just this job available.......
Steam clean your carpet.

I use hydrogen peroxide, but I also like Resolve High Traffic Area Carpet Foam.

Baking soda and peroxide paste. Rub spots with a clean white rag.

I know light color carpets look very nice when new, but hard to keep up
