Ketchup is actually a great brass cleaner!
Ketchup is very acidic Brush it on copper and allow it to soak off oxidation. Keep it wet by applying more or wrapp the item in cling wrap. Lemon and coarse salt works also. Cut a lemon in half. Dip each half into coarse (Kosher) salt and the use the lemon as a "scrubber."
Try barkeepers friend liquid cleaner. Just pour it on, then let it sit a minute or two. Wash it off with a minimum of scrubbing. Worked well for me.
"easily"

Bar Keepers Friend is a reasonably priced product that does great on copper. Brasso is good for brass.
Baby oil is a great all-purpose surface cleaner/shiner
I have copper sinks; and if I get a "drop" of Palmolive dish soap on the sink for more than a couple of seconds it takes all the patina off and it is shiney there.
I like using crest toothpaste! Rub in, wait a minute and wipe off.
