It kinda looks like a black cat. Maybe you can paint a pattern on it. I don't think you'll be able to get it all off once it's dried.
Laura, I don't usually like to reference websites but this one is the BEST for your problem. I know because I had to remove acrylic paint from a carpet spill in my house. It saved the day! http://www.wikihow.com/Get-Acrylic-Paint-off-Carpet

Claim on your insurance . or place a Planter over it.
I believe rubbing alcohol will help BUT I haven't personally tried it. However, I CAN tell you that if you go to Michael's or an artist supply store, there are products that remove dried acrylic paint from clothing and such. I paint landscapes, etc. in oils and acrylics and know there are products out there for accidents on clothing, therefore, the right product should work on your carpeting - you will just have to buy more of it, that's all. If you can't find the product(s) at Michael's, ask someone to help you. One of the products looks like a bar of soap (comes in a paper wrapper) but there are other products too. Good luck.
If you can't get it out, why not add some large black acrylic paint stripes to your rug. No one will ever know.
If it hasn't set up and thats concrete underneath there I would get a bucket of warm water, some carpet cleaner, a carpet brush and the hose. Wet, scrub, rinse, repeat
Try soaking rags in Pinesol and leaving them on spill for as long as possible, checking every so often. Keep damp by covering with plastic. May take days. Use stuff brush to get softened (not dissolved) paint off carpet. No guarantee but I've used it on many things to remove latex and acrylic paint. Usually I soak items in it but carpet presents a challenge there!
Good luck!
lemon oil gets paint off skin. Maybe it would work on carpet
Oh no, so sorry about that. For the tough to remove the stain, mix 2 tablespoons of household ammonia and 1 cup of water. Blot the mixture onto the stain and then apply a few layers of plain (no printing) paper towels to the spill and weight down with a flat heavy object for a day or so. Repeat if necessary
