Bar keepers friend love this product can find at grocery store
they probably have a protective coating on them -- you will have to remove it using 100% acetone ( 'real' fingernail polish ); apply with soft cloth and just keep at it.... then polish with Bar Keepers Friend - follow directions. I don't like my brass objects with the lacquer that is applied to keep from tarnishing -- I think it 1. looks artificial and 2. it gets scratched, etc., the air will get to the brass and cause tarnish - and it's hard to polish like that
plain white toothpaste
I like Brasso to clean brass. Sometimes I have to use a soft toothbrush to get into the hard to reach parts.
I have to go with Bar Keepers Friend. It's amazing. It can be used on many surfaces without scratching. Love it
I've used cheap white toothpaste as well with good results
i have used brasso and it took tornish off nicely i had alot of brass in my house use an old rag put some on it and rub with friction good luck!!!
Brasso, TarnX, tend to remove some of the metal as many metal polishes do. Any abrasive cleaners will scratch and dull the finish with contiued use. I use a damp tooth brush and and white toothpaste (not gel) to clean a lot of items I sell on Ebay. Works on jewelry, copper, brass, ceramics, porcelain, plastics, sneakers, etc. I needed one cleaner for what I sell. For larger Items I use a damp cloth and toothpaste.

Try Wenol polish and cleaner. I believe you have to order on line. I always have because I can't find it in any stores. This is made in Germany and is great stuff.
