You need something heavy enough to stay in place and flexible enough to fit closely. Look for a “draft doggy”.
However, you may need the sweep on the door or the weather strip in the sill (or both) replaced.

Thanks for asking Hometalk for help :)
Make a tube out of heavy muslin and put in dry sand, don't make it too full and it will form fit the bottom of the door to keep the draft out. It may be a little heavy so make sure it is sewn with tight close stitching.
The first thing that came to my mind was a pool noodle. It could be cut to the length you need.
These draft dodgers are so available in Maine. Don't stores where you are sell them too? But I have also made one out of two sweater sleeves, you can stuff with pillow stuffing or feathers or foam bits. You could also use a long curtain at your door made out of fleece, hung on a curtain rod and pulled over at night.
I made my clients out of the foam insulation to go around pipes from the hardware store. I sewed a black denim cover for it. Worked great.
Use a short piece of foam pool noodle. You can buy then at the dollar store for about $1. Just cut the length you need, then slice down one side of the noodle so it will open up lengthwise. Slide it over the bottom edge of your door.
Thank you Emily. I never thought of sweaters.
Hello Laura; You are so Welcome!!
I hope that you enjoy making your Draft stopper, and that it works out well for you!!!
Take Care!
To replace the sweep on the door you need to take the door off the hinges.
Some threshholds can just be adjusted to fit the door better.
