I like the old fashioned fly paper in the round container with a thumb tack to hang it from the ceiling.

I also have a problem with kitchen gnats in the summer. They are worse when I leave bananas out or forget to clean my garbage disposal with a little bleach.

There is a product called Eco Defense Fruit Fly Lure that is completely non toxic and has super ratings. I'd try that.

Put 2 TBSP Apple cider vinegar, 4 TBSP Water, 1 drop of dish soap, and a 1/4"(or so) piece of apple core in a small wide mouthed container near your kitchen sink. The flies will go there to eat and die from the dish soap. (Putting too much dish soap in the mix will chase them away.)

Mix apple cider vinegar with drop dish soap. I like to put in small sloping saucer i rub dish soap around edges i put small piece fruit in center make sure its just peeks from liquid. I do it before i go to bed in am yo can run water to catch live ones and dump rest. I think they come in with the fruit u buy. If you have them bad then set this up on counter with fly paper over it.

I agree with sharon.Fly paper works and/or you can buy the mouse sticky traps, open it up,if it is the folded type, put a few drops or fruit juice on it to attract them, then put it in a place where YOU won't get stuck in it! 😆

Hello Sandra; I researched this for you, and I found several effective ways to get rid if your gnats! I hope these ideas help you!! Take Care!

Make a trap. Mix apple cider vinegar with a few drops of dish soap.

Another home-made trap is to pour leftover red wine into a jar.

Mash up banana slices in a jar and cover the top with a plastic wrap.

Place rotten fruits into a jar to attract the gnats and fruit flies.
