Take several books out from the library on house plants, and look at several books and see if you can find it. It will also tell you how to care for it. Look at the books first, and if you find one take it out. Good Luck!
Looks like a "Caster Bean" plant. I had these in my yard growing up in California, and was told the pods were poison if eaten. Check it out.

Aralia or Fatsia japonica. It is an outdoor plant that does very well in full/partial shade areas.
It's a castor bean plant. Be careful it's poisonous. Keep the beans away from kids
