Hello Deana; If I were redoing your trim and shutters, I would use a medium tan color, as it will make your home pop. Due to using that color.
I hope that this helps you!!! Have fun and Take Care!
I like the black. It gives a more updated sophisticated look. The white looks too abrasive especially with the dark frame on the windows.
You know with your brick white would really look nice. Would make the house look brighter. I just had mine painted and thought I'd go crazy picking a color. I did colonial blue but my bricks are grey and white with a little red.
Black does look the best. However, Was looking at the color on the window trim, the white post on the porch and the cement porch. I studied all the colors in the brick. Then I just got stuck. I Googled, "shutter colors for brick houses" and found hundreds of ideas and more. Check it out. Pin the one's you like then set it aside. After a couple of days, go back through your pins and delete what you don't like. Then, go back through it again and pick out only the one's you "love." This is a great process and really works well.
Hello Deana, Dark roof, dark walls .. you need something light to bring some balance but white would be too bright. I am thinking along the lines of an off-white -- close to the color of the grout, and I like the look of shutters... it would be great if they were REAL shutters that could be closed to protect the glass windows in a storm ;) Thanks for asking HOMETALK for opinions :)
For one thing...You can't even see the front door which should be the focal point...so I would paint it so as to have it stand out big time...then see how you feel about the shudder colors..
I prefer the black, it stands out better against that brick, that tan color doesn't go at all IMHO it looks to pink- based taupe.
I like the dark!
I would definitely work on the door first and go from there....perhaps you would then like to match the trim to the door....be daring....you can always paint over the door if you don't like....it is always fun to try outside the box
I would start with a bright door color...something that pops...instead of shutters I would do a trellis with a flowering vibe between the Windows.
Dark Blue, not navy. Use matching color accents like hanging planters on the porch. Also landscaping 2 feet deep on the inside of your driveway, incorporating some of the same blue (pottery or glass).
If that is too bold for you, I would go with a cream color.
I think brightening it up with a white would look nice and adding some shutters.
