Basement Craft Room Ceiling
There are ceiling tiles that look like tin in white or any colour and you can attach them to the ceiling. No weight and they look stunning. They come in 2 ft widths. Check around for prices. I have seen them for around $8.00.
I put up white plastic lattice to cover REALLY BAD ceiling. It looks amazing. I also installed bright colored cornice trim to match my antique bathtub. I also painted the walls with aluminum paint. Accent color lime green accessories.
If the ceiling is Sheetrock, cut the piece and put a new piece in...spackle , sand and paint!
Check your local Lowes, Home Depot or Mobile Home Part Suppliers in your area for a medallion that is large enough to cover the hole leaving you with a small opening in the center for wiring your lights. We did this in a rental and it looks good!
If Sheetrock, you can cut the old piece out and apply the Sheetrock patch or a new piece of Sheetrock spakle, sand and paint or apply texture. Good Luck!
Stick some terra cotta pots up in there? With hanging artificial plants you can change out?
Replicas of tin tiles are made of styrofoam, easy to attach, inexpensive too. Many patterns available. Adds a lot of character. I'd love to have some in my house!
It appears that you have drywall so why not patch them are hire a professional and then paint the entire ceiling. You must make sure that all of the wiring is capped off so a fire can't start in your ceiling due to exposed eires. Did you remove and relocate vent in bathroom if not you really should just replace it with a new one.
Embossed ceiling tiles... These Lightweight, Polystyrene Foam Ceiling Panels are Inexpensive and Remarkably Easy to Install
Repair the holes. You don't want moisture getting in the cavity. Is the vent for venting to outside? If so, then just add a new vent cover.
