Sink Plunger -Try Bottle Coke down it and leave as long as possible-
Pour baking soda followed by white vinegar
If all else fails, use a plumbers snake, it will grab the problem.
Once it's clear, pour boiling water down the drain weekly. I do this to all inside drains weekly or more.
Buy a liquid drain cleaner. After everybody goes to bed, pour 1/2 bottle into the drain and leave it overnight. First thing next a.m. Run water down the drain. Repeat the next night if necessary. Works unless the problem is tree roots!
I bought a Zip-It plastic hook thing in the plumbing department-about $2. It will pull out all sorts of horrible stuff from your sink and shower drains. Then use the boiling water to finish up. You can throw the hook away or clean it for later use.
It's called the Peerless Zip-It Drain cleaning tool. Its $2.24 at Walmart. Home depot and other stores have them too. Other brands are Drain Weasel, and The Stick on Amazon. It's a thin flexible plastic stick about a foot long with little barbs that will catch hair and stuff when inserted in a drain. Cheap and easy to use.
