It's also known as sheetrock, though that's actually the brand name of an individual line of drywall. It's gypsum board with a paper sheathing, and sheets of drywall are screwed onto framing to create interior walls. The seams between sheets are then taped and "mudded" with joint compound to create smooth finished walls.
If you hang up pictures, etc., make sure you use drywall screws.
drywall is a very brittle.. a plaster like substance sandwiched with a heavy paper to make a 4 by 8 sheet of wall board. the boards are usually screwed to the studs, and then the seams are joined with mesh tape and drywall compound. Green board is a variation of dry wall, it handles wet areas better than the other, and is installed the same as drywall.
if less than 25 lbs. you can use super hooks...never had one fail yet, and they make a smaller hole..
Also known as sheetrock. Used to replace plaster & wood lath. Easy to install, repair.
You may call it gypsum board.
