Sure, why not? A professional painter would make sure you start with a clean base, remove the doors and hardware, lightly sand to give the paint something to hold on to. Then, he/she would use a washable paint in a color and finish (gloss, matte) of your choice. Clean and replace hardware or use new hardware if you want. You can do this! Good luck!
Sure you can! Remove the doors and drawers. Mark them so you know where they go after you are done. Remove the hardware. Wipe everything down with TSP cleaner to make sure there is no grease build-up, etc. Lightly sand everything so it is smooth, and no shiny areas are left. Use one coat of good primer like Kilz or Zinsser. Let dry completely. Paint with a good quality kitchen and bath paint. Water based is easiest to clean up. Paint 2-3 thin coats and let dry completely between coats. Replace doors and hardware...or add new hardware for a more modern look. Presto! New kitchen!
Make sure they are clean and dry. Use acrylic latex paint. Remove the doors and hardware. Mark the doors and cabinets with tape where they go. Lightly sand the doors and cabinets to remove any gloss and roughen the surface for paint. Prime with a stain blocking primer like Zinsser 123, KILZ,or BIN. Then paint with your color. Seal with at least three coats with a water based polyurethane. Use a small foam roller and foam brush for a smooth finish.
I agree with the other Talkers but I use Behr paint with the primer in it and so far I've only had to use one coat and it self levels. I love it.
You can sand by hand if you like. This site shows something you may choose to use. Its a sanding block and costs $3 and change and you can insert a cut piece of sandpaper into it then it is more comfortable to sand bigger areas. I would recommend it t attaching a piece of sand paper to a small block of wood with staples or nails if you prefer.
