I too have light grout in my tiles, but my tiles are darker than the picture. My hubby insists on mopping the floor with a Swiffer and it doesn't touch the grout. Needless to say, I am down on my knees scrubbing the grout lines every couple of weeks because they are now black instead of light. I started cleaning them this morning again, but got interrupted by hubby as usual and never was able to get back to it. A rag and hot water is all I use, no rinsing involved afterwards.

I don't want anything like toilet bowl cleaner on the grout. It doesn't look sealed and it may soak into the grout and cause problems with the four dogs that come through the kitchen every time they come in or out from the doggy door in the back room. They also lay on the kitchen floor whenever anyone is in the kitchen. Water cleans the grout very easily and won't cause health problems. I have to be careful with any chemical used in the house due to loved ones with COPD and situational asthma and two birds. Just having strong perfume or air fresheners sprayed near birds can kill them. One of my daughters friends killed two birds, two separate times by putting cologne on near the cage.

I spray bleach, let it set then use a brush with a handle on it. No hand and knees. Rinse

Hi Dona, For cleaning your grout, I recommend using a product called Oxi Clean Max Force. Do a test sample first. Then use an old toothbrush to scrub it into the grout. Let it set 15 or 20 minutes. Then wipe it up with a clean damp cloth. I hope this helps you. Good luck.

White tile and white grout scrubbed on hands & knees until tried rug shampoer which made it easier. Got tired of tha work and changed the grout to Charcoal Gray to match laminate wood floors. Used TEC Skill Set Grout Recolor. Easy to use, been down 4 years looks as good as day put down. Not sure if got at Lowes or Home Depot. Best thing I did for my sanity and the tile.

I bought a grout recoloring product at Menards 2 yrs ago to refinish our very light beige grout on our kitchen and dining room floors. Used a toothbrush to apply it (did a section a day :)) and it still looks like new. Very happy with the results.

When I had them I used a bleach pen for years and then started usin a carpet shampooer/floor scrubber with baking soda/peroxide combo then I didn’t have to worry about getting any on the carpet like I had in the past

Hi Dona, You can make a thin paste of hydrogen peroxide and baking soda. Apply it to the grout and let it sit for about 10-15 minutes. Scrub with an old toothbrush and rinse clean. If the grout between the tiles has worn down too far, it may be a better idea to first re-grout and then seal. You can also buy grout pens to quickly “recolor” your grout and make them look new again.
