There are a lot of websites "out there" that explain how to handle this problem and have no fear, it's common and fixable. I chose this website from Bob Villa to send you as a start. If you need more help, let us know.

If your flooring is pine, it is not hardwood. Any wood that comes from a "needle" tree is a soft wood and, therefore, more prone to scratching. Is it sealed with polyurethane? If so, better results would come with hiring someone to come in and do a light sanding of the floor and apply at least 2 coats of polyurethane. Last time I had my floors sanded, the company that did the initial sanding did the first two coats then I applied the next two coats. It is not necessary to sand between coats 2 and 3 as long as the 3rd coat is applied within 24 hours. The same is true if you apply a 4th coat. I was advised to apply very thin coats for 3 and 4. I used a flat painting pad and it was pristine. I was able to give it a full week so that it was totally dried.

To remove the scratches, you would have to sand the floor. To cover them up you could use any scratch cover product that is made for wood furniture.
