If it is not one of the newer BPA free type bottles, chances are I wouldn't use it. If a good wash with soap and water doesn't work, I do not want to drink from it. Same goes if you put a tomato product or a milk in plastic - everything after, no matter how well cleaned, will have a funny taste. That is my 2 cents worth . . .
You can try soaking it in dish soap, water and vinegar.
Only bp free bottles are the ones you wont have that problem with.

Try baking soda and let it set for a while maybe overnight.
