Pond pump quit working

This summer, I made a small pond from a black plastic pond container. I've had to replace the pump 3 times already. Anyone know why the darn pumps quit working?

Hi Connie. Are debris getting sucked into the pump? It could be leaves or pond plant roots being sucked in and getting stuck in the impeller causing the pump to burn out.

Soundl like you are getting debris in the impellor you can blow it out or usually you can take faceplate off front and clear it out. if you have some netting or cheese cloth you can fasten around pump to stop stuff from getting into it. Also good quality pump is a must if l the time.

Did you install the proper size pump vs your pond

Could be the pump is too small. Get one a little bigger.

Really tiny pond, so I don't think size is the problem. Thanks for answering
