What do you mean by "hike?" I have a bunch of dogs, maybe I can help . . .
Is your dog humping or taking a hike away from home?
if your dog has not been neutered....it's a normal behavior.
This is so true. Around 9 months or so a male dog marks his territory. Neutering really helps with this.
one of my moms dogs ( the only male out of the 4) keeps doing the same thing. Sometimes its a lot, other times a little, but always in the same place. He hasn't been neutered. I think he does it when my dad gets on to him as pay back. Not a lot you can do unless he becomes an outdoor dog.
