What is the furniture made of?
Hello, spray is a lot easier to get into the little nooks and crannies and a paint brush will leave brush strokes.
Foam roller and foam brush. Gives a smooth finish. Spraying means you need to move it out to the garage for ventilation. Would not want to spray inside and get overspray all over. And you need several light coats for a smooth finish and drying time in between coats.
Paint brush unless you're skilled with an airbrush.
I would use a brush
Prime first, really well, and depending on the size of the room, it might be easier to spray

primer first, unless you buy a spray paint with the primer in the paint. when you spray make sure your 8 to 10" away from what your painting. Back and forth spray strokes over lapping. Hold the spray tip Dow as your spraying along the whole section. Then go the opposite direction, doing the same thing. Making sure not to spray too much paint. Less is better. This way you get no runs in your paint. After you've painted the whole area let it dry. On the paint there will be direction on time for drying. Here's a picture of something I painted with spray paint
