First try misting with water and see if it peels off. If not DIF stripper works well. You might need to rent a steam stripper
This has never failed me, even with heavy duty glue, and layers of paper.

Seriously though, I guess you need to take a sharp paint scraper and/or putty knife, and remove one bit a time...You will probably need to repair/mud the gouges in the drywall afterwards.
Try using an iron with steam and that will get it off that works really good or you can rent a machine at your local big box hardware store
Have you tried spraying them with water from a spray bottle? That's how I removed mine. After the water sits for a few minutes the paper usually starts peeling. Some times you have to peel the first layer and spray again Let It sit for a bit and peel again. Make sure the paper is saturated before you peel each time though. Hope this helps!😊
Did you try the steamer?
