How to paint an existing kitchen cabinet

I did mine with a roller rather than a brush, no streaks! Take the doors down first , paint them, then paint the part attached to the wall, also with the roller. You'll have to use a brush real close to the edge of the ceiling. If the cabinets are really smooth rough them up a bit with a sander first.

Clean your cabinets well; if they are very dirty then use TSP. Rinse well.

Wipe down with rubbing alcohol. Let dry.

Sand with electric sander (stay in the direction of the grain),

wipe down with rubbing alcohol again.

OIL PRIME any areas that are directly around and above the stove area.

If you can purchase paints from Porter Paints (PPG), buy Advantage 900 in semi gloss. It adheres very well, and is durable.

I don't recommend rolling, unless you brush it out immediately after laying the paint on because roller leaves a bumpy surface. But always paint in the direction of the grain.

Let each coat dry over night before going to the next coat. You will probably need 3 coats. It is possible that you will need up to 4 and touch-up, if color-change is drastic.

Paint the outside and inside of the doors and the front facings of the cabinets and shelves. No reason to paint the interiors unless you are just needing it to be cleaner. Blessings! And Good Luck!
