How can I put a cushioned lip around a table's perimeter?

I have a large table that I will be using for a crafts table. Because I am learning to make jewelry I would like to put a padded lip around 3 sides of the table to prevent beads from rolling off. Any ideas on how to do this would be greatly appreciated.

Hello Joyce Alford, So, how about using a piece of plywood the size of your table top and covering it with a piece of fabric using spray fabric adhesive? Then if you want to sit on the floor in your living room and watch tv while making jewelry you can do it, or you can put it on top of your craft table and do it ... or on your bed ... or on the porch ... it would cost any more than a few dollars and it would be a lot less hassle than making and attaching a cushioned lip around the table. Thanks for asking HOMETALK for help.

I have seen the floating pool noodles cut lengthwise and then pushed on around the table edge.

They are inexpensive and would solve your problem without damage to the table.

That would be my suggestion, pool noodles. Cut a slit down the length of the noodle and press around the edge of the table.

I always bead in a tray, one tray for each project. never had a problem with dropping beads unless I missed the needle. I find a lot of trays at TJ Maxx, thrift stores, Dollar Tree.

Hello Joyce, My first thought was using pool noodles too. That would probably work well to keep things from rolling off your table. I make jewelry too. I have been beading for about 2 years. I made myself a bead mat. You can also purchase bead mats. I made mine with felt. I can move it from room to room or wherever I want to bead, including outside. Wishing you well.

cork board the kind you pin notes to- they are usually framed and should keep beads on the board.
