Hello Bcoscio6681 :) I remember my Dad fixing my bike tires as a young girl using his pliers. In my opinion, back then, my Dad was MAGICAL ... he ALWAYS knew just what to do and how to do it whenver something was needed to be done ;) I am sure your son feels the same way about you, and let's just reinforce that opinion :) Here is a video link that explains exactly what to do and why ;) Good Luck and thanks for asking HOMETALK for help.

We had the same issue with a used bike we bought for our granddaughter. It also needed training wheels and they wouldn't stay aligned properly. We ended up taking it to a bike repair shop. They couldn't figure out the training wheels issue but they suggested replacing the wheel so it was more in balance.
I hope that helps you fix this issue.
Take it to a bike repair shop, may need a new wheel.
what would be the approximate charge at a bike shop to straighten the wheel only slightly askew thanks for the help
