Google this but it might need to cure for a few months before you do any staining.
I would absolutely spray it on. This would be a huge time saver and also help you to save a lot of product. You waste a lot when you brush it on.
Who put your fence up? Call them and ask what sealer you need. Next call Homedepot or Lowe's and ask in the lumber department what sealer you need. Good Luck!
I'd recommend a spray method as well. Make sure to cover up properly with protection.
