I have a climbing rose bush that I need a trellise for, no trees in the area to prop it on!

Hi Lisa, we've used PVC pipe to build a trellis and it's really easy to do and lasts a long time. Here's a video that will give you an idea of how to go about it

You can build it in an arch design to make it self supporting.
You can definitely build one, you can purchase the individual slats at your local home improvement store. You can also pick up ones that are pre-made which may be less of a hassle and less expensive. If it's too big, most stores offer cutting services and they may be able to trim it down for you.
Hi Lisa. I use a gate for my climbing plants. My hubby pounds it in the ground for me. I've used the same gate for about 6 years.

Home improvement stores sell medal ones that go into the ground. But be sure to protect the legs with extra paint or some kind of seal to keep them from rusting.
