Can you give any ideas for a greenhouse for winter use?

With the cooler weather, I'm trying to decide how to make a greenhouse out of old chicken coop. I'm thinking that I may use concrete blocks and old pallets to make tables and then wrap the outside with plastic.

It depends on how long and how severe your winters are. What zone are you in?

Amanda, that's a great idea! I have had a greenhouse for many years using 6 mil. Plastic for the covering for the top and the sides but here's the drawback. The plastic needs to be stapled down tightso no water pools on top and bust through. Also on the bottom of the sides to keep the cold out. So basically it is air tight which mine is with heaters inside for my tropical hibiscus and lemon trees which some are 15 years old. Believe it or not but the hibiscus bloom better inside in the winter than during the summer. The condensation that forms from the plastic on the roof also sprinkles the plants inside. Still need to water regularly though. You can also get a head start planting heirloom tomatoes from seeds inside. My greenhouse is 20' by 10' and I still want it larger. I just actually roofed the top with shingles and put 4 skylights in the roof for natural sunlight because I lost a couple of plants last year since the plastic only protects down to a certain temperature and my heat was escaping out the top.
