Spray with vinegar, hydrogen peroxide or rubbing alcohol. To deter spiders spray peppermint oil in the areas they like to hide.
Personally, I try not to kill spiders. I do remove webs in living areas with long handled dusters and then shake them off. Having said that, I also use peppermint oil spray and on cotton balls to discourage pests in the house. I use Windex. If they are on plants they are there for a reason. Check for mites or other critters that they can catch in their webs. They pick the spots for their webs with food in mind.
This is not a green solution but it is what I use because the result is almost instant. Windex is my best friend.
A lot of Hometalkers recommend Windex :) . Good luck!
Thank you all! Maybe fewer spiders for Halloween!
