I have 2 expensive wicker chairs. They are about 6-7 years old.

Hi Shirley, what are you looking to do with the wicker chairs?
What is it that you want to do with the chairs??
If they need repair, get a how to book at your local library if you are up to the challenge. Hobby stores might sell cane to repair; match to your chairs wicker. If you aren't up to it you will need to take it to a professional, although finding one might be more difficult.
Since these are expensive chairs try to find someone that does cane repairs. It will be hard to do this yourself.
You will have to scrape/sand off all the areas where the paint is and may be chipping. Yes, on wicker, it'll be a tedious job. But that's the only way you will be able to get the new paint to adhere. Spray painting your wicker is the easiest. If you leave the loose paint on before you repaint, it'll just come off again. It's called preparation - the most important part of painting.
