Put a 2 cup measure of water in the mic and boil it for 5 minutes to loosen the dirt and grease. Remove the cup of water and all removable racks and turntable parts and soak the greasy parts in the sink. Use a spray bottle with 50% bleach, 50% water to spray the interior of the steamy microwave, and get all the parts clean, including the ceiling. Remember to clean under the turntable .

I put a bowl of lemon water in the microwave for about a minute and a half. This helps loosen up the splatters. Then I wipe it down and repeat if necessary. They sell a plastic lid you can use to put over your food to protect the microwave from getting splatters. I use one and with my kids it works great!

  • Put a large bowl of water in the microwave, place on high and run till the water boils. Let sit in the microwave with the door closed for about 5 minutes or so. Now you can clean, most of the gunky stuff will be loosened up and wipe right off.

  • Get a measuring cup and add water in it. Put it in the microwave and get the water to a boiling point and let it boil for a minute or two. Let the microwave finish boiling the water and shut the microwave off. Let the water sit in the microwave until it gets cool, then wipe the microwave out. All gunk should come off easily. Good luck, it works for me!

well, i always clean as i go...i could not stand to open my microwave & have splatters baked on...probably try the Chlorox Cleanup, it is safe for anything, even a baby's high chair...or try using Dawn mixed with a touch of water in a spray bottle....leave it on for a while & then go wipe it down...i know this because I had a "family member", by marriage & they needed me to babysit several years ago, so as I was going to prepare lunch in the microwave...well when I opened the door, I almost threw up...it was disgusting...red sauces, & everything under sun it looked like & some mold growing...well when I was finished with it & they came home, they thought they had a new microwave & this person cleaned houses for a living...i just don't live like that...but try what I said & i hope it helps..
