All plants need sun, heat and light, water and good soil. One of them are missing or not getting enough. You do not say where you live or what growing zone you are in, so it is difficult to say. Now that it's October, the plants will stop growing for now. Cover with a good layer of straw - at least 4-5 inches thick, uncover after last frost date and you will see little white strawberry flowers.
They do tend to turn brownish and kind of dry out a bit ,but don't worry they should still be ok they kind of go into dormency for winter.

Your explanation got cut off. I don't know where you live, but they should be getting close to the end of their seasonal life. Mine are healthy and still producing flowers and strawberries, but I an starting to lose leaves more frequently than during the summer. I just trim them off as necessary and start rooting more "babies" in pots to replace any plants that don't overwinter next spring.
