Removable i.e. a slipcover. Used to be everyone had a set of slipcovers for their chairs and sofa for summer, something bright and cheery. They usually had lots of piping and a floral for summer.
Can you clean the chair with a carpet cleaning machine and upholstery tool? And then for your summer looks a print in red or black?
I would go surf over on fabric.com to search for some fabric, you can pick colors and type of print, and then type of fabric, and then all the selections will come up.
you could dye the fabric
No, dying it is Not Recommended:
If the fabric is polyester, or any combination including polyester, the fabric will not dye evenly, will be blotchy, and uneven in shade intensity.
Also keep in mind that this amount of fabric will be very heavy when wet and will drip dyed water all over everything when you try to lift it to dry it out.
instead of reupholstering a chair I had, I used annie sloan chalk paint. But, any brand would work. You water the paint down just a tad and sand it with fine sandpaper when dry. Then do as many coats as needed repeating the steps. YouTube some videos! This project may help you and cost less. It doesnt change the feel of the fabric whatsoever and can add new life to any fabric. I even watched a woman paint a velvet chair on YouTube. Hope this helps!
Yup the PAINTING is just what I was going to offer. BUUUUUT also a cute slipcover you can change your mind about colors and patterns so quickly and easily. Checkout the slipcover sites. If your budget is tight you can always go on online to E**you. Sorry I can't say it, I have gotten things that were miss advertised by the sellers. Not all sellers, but your are always taking your chances when not dealing with a reputable company. Heck as often as I change my mind regarding decor I would go for the slipcovers. Lol GOOD LUCK
Thanks everyone.
Use denim or canvas or decking fabric. You may need to go to an upholstery store rather than a regular fabric store.
Automotive Parts stores have aerosol spray dyes for both fabric & vinyl. They work well on cleaned surgaces. I’ve used the vinyl dye many times & it lasts a long time on car seats which people slide into which is abrasive.
