Dishwasher stains on glassware

We have hard water, I don't know if this is the cause, or if it is the soap used in the dishwasher, after many (months of washing) my glasses and glass bowl lose their nice shine, and start to look dull, kind of milky. I got a Bosch dishwasher, it uses salt to soften the water, that didn't help. I have tried different detergents, even Amway, which is much more expensive, supposed to be top of the line, and still get that kind of milky stain. Is there anything that will help?

Take 1 small item and soak it with white vinegar leaving it wet awhile then rinse it off. If the white film disappears it's your water. I too have hard water and find white spots on the water pitcher i use daily to fill my coffee maker. White vinegar breaks down those spots leaving it shiny when I hand wash it. I have a Bosch dishwasher and it recommends "Finish" brand detergent and "Jet Dry" rinse aid. When I used the powder cube version of Finish" it was terrible. Left a powdery film in everything. Switched to the gel packs and no more problems.

Bosch, is the top of the line appliance, and your having this problem. I have the same problem with my Whirlpool. Put straight vinegar in where your suppose to put say Finish for sparkling glasses. Just unscrew it fill with vinegar and close, that may help. You may have a clogged filter, it's in the bottom of the dishwasher. It looks like a small hat. Call Bosch and ask them why your having this problem. If you don't have their number call this 1-800-373-3411 this is a toll-free number for directory assistance. Ask for Bosch appliances, spell it for them.

Agree with Ebbjdl to use straight vinegar in the rinse dispenser, and to double check that your filters are not clogged with something- even a little piece of transparent plastic can interfer with the water circulation.

Are you sure that your hot water is heating up to the Bosch recommended temp?

Do you put your cycle on heat dry, or no-heat dry?
