rug tiles ..
You could use rug tiles, and also you can find a lot of indoor outdoor rugs on sale with the close of summer. Some of them are gorgeous and they don't look cheap. Also try some resale shops and they will probably be cheaper and just need a cleaning
Sometimes amazing rugs show up at thrift stores..be choosy about cleanliness and wear because some rugs look almost new. Great prices at Estate sales...have all your measurements ready! The bigger the rug, the better the "relative" price. Lots of online ideas for stitching together smaller rugs. Get a neutral jute rug and and a smaller topper rug for color. I know I just suggested all ways to get a rug...but your large space would look great with layering and texture....will also lessen echo! Happy hunting!
Nice throw carpets and rugs would look nice over the tiles. I love tile because it's so easy to clean! Especially now that we've moved to Texas and there are more bugs {ick!}, I like to be able to vacuum and mop more often ~ tile is GREAT for that! Downside? Colder in winter, but that's where all those nice carpets will come in handy. Plus, you can change them out by rolling them up in summer and they are easy to move around the house.
Just in case you don't know this little rule of thumb: when decorating either place all of the furniture on the carpet or all of it off the carpet (exception: the coffee table :)). Areas look better that way. :) Here's a neat article I just found while thinking about your tile dilemna. It talks about ways to use rugs, size, etc.

Happy decorating in your new home,

I personally would use a decorative area rugs this will give you the pop or focal point color for your large scale rooms and check kohls, ollies,Christmas tree shops, and wayfarer on line and be sure to spray the rug the rugs with stain protector, this will help with spills and food dropped on them. Here’s a few ideas🍁📌
You can find amazing area rugs at great prices at places like Tuesday Morning and Home
Goods,
You could buy pre primed canvas floor cloths. Tape or stencil a design, protect with non yellowing poly.
Also Home Depot and Lowe's both have beautiful area rugs at low prices. They are good quality too.
naw,Put in some peel and stivk flooring over some carpet tape that way if you are a renter you can remove when done w your lease
Paint a "carpet"...
I have hard wood floors and have outdoor/indoor carpets. I have 2 huge ones side by side in the great room that I bought at Home Depot 3 years ago. They still look like the day I brought them home. Of course shoes are not allowed in the house. These lay flat and their corners never curl. They're beautiful.
Cost: $117 each at the beginning of the summer season.
