Pink Bathroom in Rented Apartment. What to Do?

Grout fills the joints on the tile. Thinset is generally used to adhere the tile. I like to use thinset for floor tiles and tile mastic for walls unless I am going over cement board. You will have to grout the joints.
If you use tile you need grout....messy as it is...you could get the sheets of faux tile that you just cut to fit and stick on. Look in the tile department. It is beautiful and a lot less work than tiling and grouting.
Lowes sells peel and stick tiles in a variety of patterns that do not require grout. Also amazon has a lot of different patterns available.
