Repair towel rack screwed into wall

    Most likely the source of the problem is two-fold:

    - what is behind the drywall is not strong enough to support the weight of the towel bar, for example there isn't a 2x4, and no toggle bolt was used

    - the screws used to mount the bar are insufficient length to permeate securely through the wall, and they have pulled out.


    If the pulling out of the towel bar has taken some of the drywall with it, or made a hole otherwise, then it will be very difficult to remount the bar in exactly the same place, without first reparing the wall.
