I think a picture of you situation may help....Cover a brick, with decorative fabric. Use a big rock you like. Large heavy ceramic vase with silk flowers. Open up a large tall stuffed animal, and put a brick or rock in it - re-stuff and sew back up.
We have a magnetic door stop for a door in our house. I wonder if this might work for you too.
Find something heavy enough that also blends with your décorand can be moved away and set next to the door when not in use. For example, in a rustic, country, farm style home maybe an vintage, large jug, small wagon wheel or antique iron.
For casual décor maybe a gumball machine on a stand or a child-sized wooden chair. For sleek or modern maybe a glass brick or a ceramic orb on a base.

You can find these on Ebay, Etsy, or even a local antique/thrift store!
Good luck!

you can cover a brick with cloth and hand sew it together.

Hello there,
Fit either an over door re strainer arm or fit a door clip on the outside wall or maybe use a hook and a bungee to stop it happening, or a large door stop!
A hook and eye would be a good solution to your problem, if you don't want to do that, then a fabric covered doorstop would be nice.
Here's a bunch of creative ones from Pinterest:
